Frequently Asked Questions

While both come from the same grape variety, the difference lies in winemaking philosophy and regional tradition. Pinot Gris (French style) typically offers richer, more textured wines with stone fruit flavours and spice, while Pinot Grigio (Italian style) tends to be lighter, crisper and more mineral-driven with citrus and green apple notes. This pack lets you experience both approaches side by side, showcasing how winemaking technique can dramatically influence the same grape's expression.

The consistently high scores from Wine Orbit (95pts), Wine Showcase Magazine (94pts), and Wine Pilot (94pts) reflect exceptional winemaking from respected producers. These ratings indicate wines that demonstrate excellent varietal character, balanced acidity, and clean fruit expression - hallmarks of quality Pinot Gris/Grigio. The recognition from multiple independent sources suggests these bottles represent outstanding value and craftsmanship in their respective styles.

The diverse flavour profile spanning green apple, pear, citrus, and nectarine with mineral undertones makes this collection incredibly food-friendly. The lighter Grigio style pairs beautifully with seafood, fresh salads, and Asian cuisine, while the richer Gris expressions complement roasted chicken, creamy pasta dishes, and soft cheeses. The spice notes in some bottles also work wonderfully with mildly spiced dishes and charcuterie boards.

Serve chilled between 8-10°C to highlight the crisp acidity and delicate aromatics that define quality Pinot Gris and Grigio. The cooler temperature enhances the mineral qualities and citrus notes while preventing the alcohol from overwhelming the subtle fruit flavours. Consider decanting briefly if you want to open up the more textured Gris styles, and use appropriate white wine glasses to concentrate the aromatic compounds.

While Pinot Gris and Grigio are generally crafted for immediate enjoyment to showcase their fresh, vibrant character, the quality indicated by these high ratings suggests they have good structure for short to medium-term cellaring. The 2024 vintages are perfect for current drinking, while proper storage could see them develop additional complexity over 2-3 years. However, their primary appeal lies in the bright, clean fruit expression that's at its peak now.
