Why do we love this wine?

Here is one show-stopping, chart-topping shiraz that’s ready and roaring. While this is drinking perfectly now, do be warned - it’s quite the blockbuster! Handcrafted from the finest grapes on the vine Barossa vineyard, this has what we look for in these wines, with a rich, full-body and aromas that lift with oaky spices and dense ripe blackberries. All of course, handled beautifully with high quality oak and supporting fine tannins. A blockbuster with a really great plot and a finish worthy of an M. Night Shyamalan flick.

Frequently Asked Questions

This Bullseye Shiraz showcases the quintessential Barossa Valley style with exceptional ratings including 97 points from Wine Orbit and 96 points from Wine Pilot. The combination of dense ripe blackberry fruit, oaky spices, and fine tannin structure represents the region's ability to produce world-class Shiraz that balances power with elegance. Barossa's warm climate and ancient soils create ideal conditions for Shiraz to develop the rich, full-bodied character that has made the region globally renowned.

Serve this wine at 16-18°C to allow its complex aromas of blackberries and oak spices to fully express themselves. The rich, full-bodied palate weight makes it perfect for hearty dishes like grilled lamb, beef steaks, or aged cheeses. Consider decanting for 30-60 minutes before serving to soften the tannins and enhance the wine's aromatic complexity, particularly given its blockbuster style and concentrated fruit flavours.

The 2021 vintage in Barossa Valley was characterised by excellent growing conditions that produced concentrated, well-balanced wines. This vintage is drinking beautifully now, showing immediate accessibility while retaining the structure for further development. The combination of optimal weather patterns and careful vineyard management resulted in grapes with intense black cherry and plum characteristics, contributing to the wine's current acclaim and multiple high ratings from respected critics.

The blockbuster description refers to this Shiraz's bold, dramatic character that delivers immediate impact and memorable intensity. Like a Hollywood blockbuster, it combines spectacular elements - dense fruit concentration, prominent oak integration, and powerful tannin structure - into an experience that's both impressive and entertaining. This style represents modern Australian winemaking's ability to create wines with both power and finesse, appealing to those who appreciate bold, expressive reds.

While this wine is drinking perfectly now, its fine tannin structure and high-quality oak treatment suggest excellent cellaring potential of 8-12 years. The concentrated blackberry and plum fruit, combined with the wine's full-bodied nature, will continue to evolve and integrate over time. Store in a cool, dark place at consistent temperature, and expect the wine to develop more complex secondary flavours while maintaining its characteristic Barossa richness and power.
