This classic Barossa shiraz is muscular but measured, silky but firm where it counts. Concentrated fruit and an impactful structure are the real heroes here. One of those wines that simply demands the attention of everyone in the room.

Why do we love this wine?

Richly fruited and deeply enticing, this bad boy throws out waves of dark berries, potpourri, and roasted spice, all kept in line by and a good lick of cedary oak. Plump, powerful and plush, with a full-bodied warmth that’s lifted by sweet blackberry fruit and laced with earthy undertones, vanilla cream, and powdery tannins for added grunt. The finish is long, satisfying, and confidently structured. Put simply, this is a ripping wine, and it's going to be a ripping wine for many years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dos Bros showcases the classic Barossa Valley intensity with its exceptional balance of power and finesse. The combination of dark berry concentration, cedary oak integration, and powdery tannin structure creates a wine that's immediately approachable yet built for long-term cellaring. Its 95-point Wine Orbit rating reflects how successfully it captures the region's signature warmth while maintaining elegant complexity.

With its robust tannin structure and concentrated fruit profile, this Shiraz has excellent ageing potential of 10-15 years from vintage. The cedary oak and earthy undertones will integrate further over time, while the blackberry fruit will evolve into more complex secondary flavours. The wine's confident structure and long finish indicate it will reward patient cellaring, developing greater complexity and silky texture.

The wine's rich, spiced character and powdery tannins make it perfect for robust dishes like slow-cooked lamb, barbecued beef ribs, or aged hard cheeses. The vanilla cream notes complement dishes with earthy elements like mushroom risotto or game meats. Its Barossa warmth and spice profile also pairs beautifully with Middle Eastern cuisine featuring cumin, coriander, and paprika.

Powdery tannins describe a specific texture where the wine's structure feels fine and velvety rather than grippy or harsh. This creates a luxurious mouthfeel that provides backbone without overwhelming the palate. In this Shiraz, these refined tannins allow the rich fruit flavours to shine while adding complexity and length, contributing to the wine's immediate drinkability despite its full-bodied nature.

The 2021 vintage in Barossa Valley benefited from ideal growing conditions that produced wines of exceptional concentration and balance. Cool nights preserved natural acidity while warm days developed intense fruit flavours, creating wines with both power and elegance. This vintage's success is reflected in the consistently high ratings across Barossa producers, with wines showing remarkable depth and ageing potential.
