Frequently Asked Questions

Whispering Angel represents the pinnacle of Provence rosé craftsmanship, created by Sacha Lichine with the ambitious vision of producing one of the world's greatest rosés. Unlike many commercial rosés that can be overly sweet or simple, this wine showcases the sophisticated Provence style with its signature pale pink colour and remarkable complexity. The wine's finely textured finish and perfect balance of freshness demonstrates why it sparked what many consider the modern rosé renaissance.

Serve Whispering Angel well-chilled at 8-10°C to highlight its crisp, dry character and delicate fruit flavours. The wine's light-bodied nature and creamy texture make it perfect for leisurely occasions - think poolside sipping, garden parties, or as an elegant aperitif. Its complexity means it can handle food pairings beyond typical rosé fare, complementing everything from fresh seafood to Mediterranean cuisine with herbs and olive oil.

This vintage offers a beautiful harmony of red berry fruits, particularly raspberry and strawberry, wrapped in a surprisingly creamy texture that sets it apart from lighter rosés. The Provence terroir contributes mineral undertones and herbal nuances that complement the fruit without overwhelming it. The wine's dry style means the fruit flavours are clean and precise rather than jammy, creating a sophisticated drinking experience that evolves beautifully in the glass.

Provence's Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, creates ideal conditions for producing rosé with both intensity and finesse. The region's ancient winemaking traditions, combined with modern techniques, result in wines with the characteristic pale colour and complex flavour profiles that have become the benchmark worldwide. Chateau D'Esclans, located in this prestigious region, benefits from limestone-rich soils and coastal influences that contribute to the wine's mineral backbone and exceptional aging potential.

While most rosés are designed for immediate enjoyment, Whispering Angel's exceptional quality and complexity allow it to develop beautifully over 2-3 years when properly stored. The 2024 vintage is drinking superbly now, showcasing vibrant fruit and crisp acidity, but patient collectors will be rewarded as the wine develops more nuanced flavours and a silkier texture. Store it in a cool, dark place and you'll discover how premium Provence rosé can evolve beyond simple summer refreshment into something truly sophisticated.
