Why do we love this wine?

It jumps out of the glass with passionfruit and gooseberry straight away, backed by citrus and a light grassy edge. The palate is all energy - bright, zesty and refreshingly pure. Intense tropical fruit rolls through, kept sharp and focused by natural, mineral-driven acidity that gives the wine real snap and length. It’s pristine, honest and properly refreshing - the kind of sauv that tastes exactly like where it comes from. No tricks, no noise. Just Marlborough doing Marlborough very well.

Frequently Asked Questions

This wine showcases Marlborough's signature terroir through its mineral-driven acidity and pristine fruit expression. The region's cool climate and unique soil composition create that characteristic 'snap' and length, while the intense tropical fruit flavours reflect the area's ability to ripen Sauvignon Blanc to perfection while maintaining natural freshness. It's an honest representation of place without any winemaking manipulation.

The 2025 vintage represents the very latest harvest, meaning you're getting this Sauvignon Blanc at its peak of youthful vibrancy. Sauvignon Blanc is best enjoyed young to capture its bright, zesty character and intense aromatics. This recent vintage ensures maximum freshness and that distinctive 'energy' the wine is known for, with the passionfruit and gooseberry flavours at their most pronounced.

The wine's bright acidity and tropical fruit profile make it excellent with fresh seafood, particularly oysters, sashimi, or grilled fish with citrus. The grassy edge and mineral backbone also complement goat's cheese, asparagus dishes, and herb-crusted chicken. Its clean, refreshing nature makes it perfect as an aperitif or with light summer salads featuring citrus vinaigrettes.

The dual 90-point scores for both 'Killer Vintage' and 'Dangerous Value' indicate this is an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc that punches well above its price point. These ratings suggest the wine delivers premium quality characteristics - intense varietal expression, excellent balance, and regional typicity - while offering outstanding value for money. It's recognition that Misty Bay has crafted something special in this vintage.

Serve well-chilled at 8-10°C to showcase the wine's crisp acidity and vibrant aromatics. Store bottles on their side in a cool, dark place, but don't age this wine - Sauvignon Blanc's appeal lies in its youthful freshness and immediate drinkability. Once opened, consume within 2-3 days while keeping refrigerated to maintain that essential 'snap' and tropical fruit intensity.
